Child care providers are more than caregivers—they are educators, entrepreneurs,
and trusted partners in a child’s early development. As essential business owners,
they strengthen the local economy and play a critical role in supporting working
families. CDA stands alongside these providers, helping them grow, achieve
昀椀nancial stability, and thrive in an ever-changing child care landscape.
To deepen its work with providers enrolled in the Child Care Payment Program,
CDA expanded support to include targeted resources and additional payments
focused on long-term stability and sustainability. Under contract with CDSS,
CDA continued administering monthly Cost of Care Plus Rate Payments that
began in 2023. This year, CDA also distributed the One-Time Per-Child Provider
Stabilization Payment and the Cost of Care Plus One-Time Payment to eligible
child care providers as part of an agreement between the State of California and
Child Care Providers United.

ensuring providers had the tools, resources, and support needed to sustain their
businesses and succeed long term.
