Advocacy is central to CDA’s work and mission. We actively
engage at the local, county, and state levels to in昀氀uence child
care policy and systems change—ensuring that the needs
and voices of children, families, and child care providers are
represented in critical decision-making spaces. Through
strategic partnerships, coalition-building, and leadership roles,
CDA helps shape policies that promote equity, access, and
sustainability within the early care and education system.
CDA participates in and collaborates with a wide range of
advocacy organizations, including Thriving Families California,
the San Diego County Child Care and Development Local
Planning Council, San Diego Children First Collective, the Child
and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Roundtable, the First
5 San Diego Commission, Live Well San Diego, and many other
regional and statewide groups. Together, these partnerships
advance a stronger, more responsive, and more equitable
child care system for the families and providers we serve.
